Mike Williams directs our Rock the Strings and Beginner Strings classes. Made up of violin, viola and cello students, it enables a small ensemble such as a string quartet or trio to rehearse and be part of performances and recitals at the end of each semester.
Popular & Fiddle Strings Class – Intermediate to Advanced
Mike Williams provides arrangements specifically for the group, enabling the students on violin, viola, cello and classical guitar to perform songs by Guns and Roses, Led Zeppelin, Taylor Swift, Beatles, Red Hot Chili Peppers and more. Intermediate and Advanced students can be a part of this group. Students who are still considered beginners can start with the Beginner Strings Class below.
Popular & Fiddle Class – Beginning to Intermediate
This class enables students who have very little playing experience to get together and learn simple classical songs from the Suzuki method and simple American Fiddle tunes. Although it is mainly for beginners, students will need a month or so of private lessons in order to get some of the basics of holding their instrument correctly, some simple note reading and learning to get a good tone out of the instrument. Students who want to be a part of a group, but don’t have an orchestra at school to be part of will enjoy this group class. Once the student is ready, he or she can perform in the more advanced group.
